Cynthia Robertson, Photographer

Cynthia Robertson, aka the Shutterbug Angel, has a mission to show how wonderfully made the created world around us is. The first thing she does when she wakes up in the morning is look out the window and see what the good Lord has provided. The clouds and trees, birds and plants, sun and moon all tell a story of everyday miracles in life. Her favorite Bible verse comes to mind as she looks around: “This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24

At her childhood home in Kansas, Cynthia loved to spend time out on the back porch reading and watching robins pull up fat worms from the ground under tall, leafy elm trees. She began writing poetry, short stories and essays at an early age, encouraged by teachers and her father, who gave her a diary one year for Christmas. When she was 17 years old, Cynthia bought a Kodak Brownie camera and began taking pictures. She was fascinated with what the camera saw. Soon after, she was dabbling in the darkroom, watching images come up to the surface in the developer solution. At 18 years of age, Cynthia travelled to Hawaii, Colorado and eventually to San Diego. She fell positively in love with America’s Finest City, where she attended college and began writing and photographing for newspapers.

To this day, the Shutterbug Angel still loves working with words and pictures. Thousands of her feature articles with photographs about the people and places of San Diego have been published in newspapers and magazines. Her blog at www.shutterbug-angel.blogspot.com, also shows and tells the magnificent beauty of San Diego.

Cynthia is available for photo shoots of individual portraits—for both people and pets—as well as family reunions, weddings, special days, church and school events, and community events.

Additionally, she am available for work on commission for communications and marketing purposes for everything from small offices to nonprofits to travel agencies.
